Is Peacock Down?

Peacock buffering, stuck on a black screen or refusing to start a live game? The check below shows whether the Peacock site answers, and the fixes cover problems on your device and location settings.

Checking Peacock…

Reading the latest result from our servers.

We test www.peacocktv.com from our servers. This shows whether the public addresses answer, not what happens inside the app.

Tell us if Peacock does not work for you. One report per visitor every 10 minutes.

Checks run on our servers. We do not keep a list of the addresses you check.

How to use it

  1. Read the live status above. It tests Peacock from outside your network.
  2. Open the official Peacock Help page for confirmed incidents.
  3. If Peacock is up, work through the fixes below, cheapest first.
  4. Press the report button if it still fails, so other visitors see it.

Is Peacock down for everyone or only for you?

Peacock splits into a few parts. Your account and the app catalog come from one set of services. Video for on-demand shows and live channels is delivered from a content network. A live event, such as a sports game, depends on a live feed that is separate from the on-demand library. That is why a movie can play fine while a live channel fails.

Peacock also checks where you are. Its site says your device must physically be located in the US to stream. A location problem can look exactly like an outage, so check that first. Our check asks the Peacock website for an answer from outside your network. We could not confirm a public Peacock status page, so the Help page is the official reference.

The live check on this page requests www.peacocktv.com from our servers every few minutes. A normal answer from those addresses means the service is reachable from outside your network. It does not prove that every feature inside Peacock works, which is why the problem reports and the fixes below matter.

What usually breaks with Peacock

App will not open

The app closes at the logo or shows a spinner. This is often a stale app version or cache on a TV, stick or console.

Live channels and sports

A live stream freezes, drops to low quality or fails to start while on-demand video works. Live delivery is a separate path and is the first to feel heavy traffic.

Location errors

Peacock says it is not available in your territory. This happens on a US device when location data is wrong, or when traffic is routed through another country.

Playback and buffering

A title starts, then stalls. Slow Wi-Fi, a busy network or an old device usually causes it.

Sign-in and plan problems

You are logged out, asked to sign in again, or a Premium feature is missing. Check that you are signed in with the right account.

How to fix Peacock when it only fails for you

Start at the top. The first steps are the cheapest and fix most cases that are not a real outage.

  1. Check your device location. Peacock requires a US location. Turn off any VPN or proxy and make sure location services are on for your browser or phone.
  2. Force close and reopen the app. On Roku, highlight the Peacock tile, press the star button and choose Remove channel only if later steps fail. On Fire TV go to Settings, Applications, Manage Installed Applications, Peacock, Force stop.
  3. Clear the app cache. On Fire TV choose Clear cache in the same menu. On Android phones use Settings, Apps, Peacock, Storage, Clear cache. On a browser, clear site data for peacocktv.com.
  4. Update the app and the device. Open your device app store and install updates for Peacock. Then check for system updates on your TV, stick, console or phone.
  5. Sign out and back in. Open Profile or Account in the app, sign out, restart the device and sign in again. Use only the official peacocktv.com account page to reset a password.
  6. Test another device. Try the phone app or a web browser. If it works there, the problem is the original device, not Peacock.
  7. Lower the load on your network. Pause other downloads and streams, then move closer to the router or use an Ethernet cable on a TV or console.
  8. Power cycle the TV and router. Unplug both for 30 seconds, plug in the router first, wait for it to connect, then power on the TV.

If none of this helps and the live check above shows the service as up, read our guide on why a website is not loading, or see how to flush DNS.

Official Peacock status and support

The company itself has the final word on outages. Check Peacock Help for confirmed incidents and use Peacock Help if your account has a problem that is not an outage. We are not affiliated with Peacock.

Frequently asked questions

Is Peacock down or is it my device?

Run the live check. If Peacock answers but your TV app fails, test the same title in a web browser. A different result tells you the TV app or cache is the cause.

Why does Peacock work for movies but not live sports?

Live channels use a separate live feed. It can stall under heavy viewing while the on-demand library plays normally.

Does Peacock have an official status page?

We could not find one. The Peacock Help page is the official place for support articles.

Why does Peacock say it is not available in my territory?

The service is meant for devices in the US. Check for a VPN, travel abroad or wrong location data on your device.

Will reinstalling the app delete my account?

No. Your profile, list and subscription live on your account, not in the app.
