Is Rocket League down for everyone or only for you?
Rocket League is published by Epic Games, and its online features run through Epic's services. When you start the game it signs you in with your Epic account, reaches the Rocket League servers for matchmaking and then connects you to a match server in a region. Cross-platform play and friends lists also rely on Epic, so a problem there can affect players on every platform.
Our check requests the Rocket League website and an Epic Online Services endpoint from outside your network. Epic keeps a status page for its services, and Epic's own guides tell players to look there first. A wrong region, a restricted network or a bad clock can also mimic an outage.
The live check on this page requests www.rocketleague.com and api.epicgames.dev from our servers every few minutes. A normal answer from those addresses means the service is reachable from outside your network. It does not prove that every feature inside Rocket League works, which is why the problem reports and the fixes below matter.
What usually breaks with Rocket League
Login
The game cannot sign in with your Epic account or says you are not logged in. This depends on Epic's account services.
Connection to the servers
The game says it is not connected to the Rocket League servers or that no servers are online. Epic lists this family of messages in its connection guides.
Matchmaking
Searches run forever or fail. Regional load and your selected region both matter.
In-match disconnects
A match drops or shows packet loss. The route to the game server, Wi-Fi quality and router settings are the usual causes.
Save or sync failures
Progress will not load or the game says syncing failed. Epic ties some of these to an incorrect device clock.
How to fix Rocket League when it only fails for you
Start at the top. The first steps are the cheapest and fix most cases that are not a real outage.
- Check Epic Games Status. Open status.epicgames.com. If Epic lists a problem with online services, waiting is the right move.
- Pick a closer region. In the game's Settings, open the Online or Gameplay tab and choose the region nearest you. A far region adds delay and timeouts.
- Use a wired connection. Epic recommends a wired connection. Plug an Ethernet cable into your PC or console and restart the game.
- Restart the router. Power off the router for a minute. Restarting also refreshes the address your console or PC uses.
- Delete the Rocket League cache. On PC close the game, open Documents, My Games, Rocket League, TAGame and delete the Cache folder. The game rebuilds it on the next launch.
- Sync the clock. On Windows go to Settings, Time and language, Date and time and press Sync now. The device clock must be accurate for the game to reach its servers.
- Verify or reinstall. In the Epic Games Launcher open Library, the three dots on Rocket League, then Manage and Verify. Reinstall if verification keeps failing.
- On Switch, check the MTU. Epic has a Switch guide for adjusting MTU settings in the console's internet settings when connection drops persist.
