Is Epic Games down for everyone or only for you?
Epic runs many services under one account. The status page splits them by product: Fortnite, Rocket League, Fall Guys, the Epic Games Store, and Epic Online Services. The Store lists Login, Download/Installation, Purchasing/Refunding, Epic Wallet and Store Browsing. A download problem does not mean login is broken, and a Fortnite problem does not mean the Store is down.
Epic Online Services also powers sign in and online features for many third-party games. When it fails, games from other publishers can fail to log in too. Our check requests the Epic website and store from outside your network. These sites may block automated requests, so a 403 reply still shows the server answered.
The live check on this page requests www.epicgames.com and store.epicgames.com from our servers every few minutes. A normal answer from those addresses means the service is reachable from outside your network. It does not prove that every feature inside Epic Games works, which is why the problem reports and the fixes below matter.
What usually breaks with Epic Games
Launcher login
The Launcher cannot sign in or shows an AS error. This can be an Epic Account Services problem or your system clock.
Downloads and installs
Downloads stall, crawl or show a disk error. The Download/Installation component is separate, and your disk or network is a frequent cause.
Game launch
A game closes or shows LS errors. Corrupted files or a missing sign in are common.
Store and purchases
The Store page is blank, or checkout fails. Purchasing and Wallet are separate services.
Online features in games
Matchmaking, friends and voice fail. Those use Epic Online Services.
How to fix Epic Games when it only fails for you
Start at the top. The first steps are the cheapest and fix most cases that are not a real outage.
- Read the right component. Open status.epicgames.com and check Login or Download/Installation for the product you use.
- Verify your system clock. Epic says an accurate device clock may help with AS-1010. Set date and time to automatic.
- Verify game files. In the Launcher open Library, click the three dots on the game, then Manage, then Verify.
- Clear the Launcher cache. Close the Launcher. Press Win+R, enter %localappdata%, open EpicGamesLauncher, Saved and delete the webcache folders.
- Run the Launcher as administrator. Right-click the Launcher shortcut and choose Run as administrator.
- Check disk space and drive. Free at least the size of the game plus extra space. Move installs to an internal drive with errors fixed.
- Sign out and in. Open your profile in the Launcher, sign out, restart and sign in again. Use only the official epicgames.com page for password resets.
- Reinstall the Launcher. Download the Launcher installer from epicgames.com and install over it. Installed games remain.
