Is Roblox Down?

Roblox stuck on joining, kicking you out with an error code or not loading the website? The live check shows whether Roblox answers, and the fixes cover cases where your device or network is the problem.

Checking Roblox…

Reading the latest result from our servers.

We test www.roblox.com and auth.roblox.com from our servers. This shows whether the public addresses answer, not what happens inside the app.

Tell us if Roblox does not work for you. One report per visitor every 10 minutes.

Checks run on our servers. We do not keep a list of the addresses you check.

How to use it

  1. Read the live status above. It tests Roblox from outside your network.
  2. Open the official Roblox Status page for confirmed incidents.
  3. If Roblox is up, work through the fixes below, cheapest first.
  4. Press the report button if it still fails, so other visitors see it.

Is Roblox down for everyone or only for you?

Roblox is split into parts that can fail on their own. The website and login handle your account and avatar. The Game Join service connects you to an experience. Each experience then runs on its own game server. Asset Delivery sends the models and textures, and Data Store keeps saved progress. Roblox's status page lists these pieces separately, which is why one game can break while the site works.

Our check requests the Roblox website and its authentication service from outside your network. If both answer, the platform is reachable. Errors that appear only when joining a game are then more likely your connection, a firewall or a problem with one experience.

The live check on this page requests www.roblox.com and auth.roblox.com from our servers every few minutes. A normal answer from those addresses means the service is reachable from outside your network. It does not prove that every feature inside Roblox works, which is why the problem reports and the fixes below matter.

What usually breaks with Roblox

Website and login

The site will not load or sign-in loops. This is the web side, shown as Website on Roblox's status page.

Joining a game

The loading bar stalls or you get error 279. This involves the Game Join service and your own connection.

Disconnects mid-game

You are dropped with error 277 or 266. This often points to an unstable home network.

Avatar, catalog and items

Your avatar looks blank or the Marketplace will not load. Avatar and asset delivery are separate systems.

Studio and creator tools

Roblox Studio, Data Stores or the creator dashboard fail while the player side works.

How to fix Roblox when it only fails for you

Start at the top. The first steps are the cheapest and fix most cases that are not a real outage.

  1. Check Roblox Status first. Open status.roblox.com. It splits User, Player and Creator parts, so you can see if Game Join or Games is affected.
  2. Check the date and time. Roblox's help for error 279 mentions checking your device date and time. Set them to automatic.
  3. Allow Roblox through the firewall. On Windows, open Windows Security, Firewall and network protection, Allow an app through firewall, and permit Roblox Player on private and public networks.
  4. Clear app data on mobile. On Android go to Settings, Apps, Roblox, Storage, Clear cache and Clear data. On iPhone delete and reinstall the app.
  5. Reinstall the Roblox app. Uninstall it, restart, then download again from roblox.com or your app store. Your account and purchases stay online.
  6. Close other uploads and streams. Heavy background downloads can cause timeouts. Pause them and switch to wired or 5 GHz Wi-Fi.
  7. Pause antivirus conflicts. Roblox says antivirus software can override its permissions and trigger error 268. Add Roblox as an exception rather than turning protection off for long.
  8. Try another experience. If only one game fails, the creator's server may be at fault. Join a different game to test.

If none of this helps and the live check above shows the service as up, read our guide on why a website is not loading, or see how to flush DNS.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if Roblox is down or if it is just me?

Run the live check above and look at status.roblox.com. If both look fine, test mobile data. If Roblox works there, your home network is the cause.

Why does one Roblox game fail while others work?

Each experience runs on its own server code. A bug or overload in one game does not affect the platform.

Where is the official Roblox status page?

status.roblox.com. It lists User, Player and Creator components and recent incidents.

Will I lose progress after an error?

Progress is saved by each game through Data Stores. A disconnect can lose recent unsaved changes in some games, but your account items stay.

Does error 267 mean my account is banned?

No. Roblox describes it as a ban from one experience set by that creator. Your account can still join other games.
