Checking Battle.net…

Reading the latest result from our servers.

We test www.blizzard.com and us.battle.net from our servers. This shows whether the public addresses answer, not what happens inside the app.

Tell us if Battle.net does not work for you. One report per visitor every 10 minutes.

Checks run on our servers. We do not keep a list of the addresses you check.

How to use it

  1. Read the live status above. It tests Battle.net from outside your network.
  2. Open the official Blizzard Support page for confirmed incidents.
  3. If Battle.net is up, work through the fixes below, cheapest first.
  4. Press the report button if it still fails, so other visitors see it.

Is Battle.net down for everyone or only for you?

Battle.net is the login and launcher for Blizzard games and also for Call of Duty on PC. There are three parts: the account login, the launcher and its update agent, and the game servers. An update error usually comes from the second part, which runs on your computer.

We could not find a public Blizzard status page that responds, so the support site is the official resource. Our check requests the Blizzard website and the Battle.net login page from outside your network. If both answer, a stuck update or failed login is more likely your computer, security software or network.

The live check on this page requests www.blizzard.com and us.battle.net from our servers every few minutes. A normal answer from those addresses means the service is reachable from outside your network. It does not prove that every feature inside Battle.net works, which is why the problem reports and the fixes below matter.

What usually breaks with Battle.net

Login and account

You cannot sign in to the launcher or the website. The login page is a separate check on this page.

Updates and downloads

The game stops patching. Blizzard's article for BLZBNTAGT00000BB8 ties it to a failed download or write of update data.

Game servers

One game's realm or lobby fails while the launcher works. Check the game's own status in the support site.

Launcher agent

The Battle.net app hangs on Updating or Initializing. The update agent is damaged or blocked.

Call of Duty on PC

Call of Duty on PC launches through Battle.net. Activision says to run scan and repair there.

How to fix Battle.net when it only fails for you

Start at the top. The first steps are the cheapest and fix most cases that are not a real outage.

  1. Run Scan and Repair. In the Battle.net app select the game, open the options menu next to Play and choose the scan and repair option.
  2. Add Blizzard apps to security exceptions. Blizzard's guide for BLZBNTAGT00000BB8 begins with adding the Blizzard apps to your antivirus or firewall exceptions.
  3. Turn off proxies. Disable any proxy configured in your system and test again.
  4. Test another administrator account. If the error persists, try a new Windows administrator account, according to Blizzard.
  5. Remove VPN and scan for malware. Disconnect VPN software and run a malware scan, as Blizzard recommends for stubborn cases.
  6. Check your connection. Restart the router and use a wired connection while the game updates.
  7. Reinstall the launcher. Uninstall Battle.net and install the latest version from battle.net. Game files can stay in place and be found again.
  8. Contact Blizzard Support. Visit support.blizzard.com or the Technical Support forum with the exact code and the game name.

If none of this helps and the live check above shows the service as up, read our guide on why a website is not loading, or see how to flush DNS.
