How to use it
- Read the live status above. It tests Tinder from outside your network.
- Open the official Tinder Help Center page for confirmed incidents.
- If Tinder is up, work through the fixes below, cheapest first.
- Press the report button if it still fails, so other visitors see it.
Is Tinder down for everyone or only for you?
Tinder has the swipe feed, the match list and chat, and your account with its login. Tinder's Help Center keeps separate articles for matches that load indefinitely, messages that do not send, an app that crashes and profiles missing from Discovery. These are different problems, and not all are outages.
We could not find a public Tinder status page, so the troubleshooting section of the Help Center is the best official resource. Our check requests tinder.com from outside your network. If it answers, try the steps below, starting with the connection and the web version.
The live check on this page requests tinder.com and www.help.tinder.com from our servers every few minutes. A normal answer from those addresses means the service is reachable from outside your network. It does not prove that every feature inside Tinder works, which is why the problem reports and the fixes below matter.
What usually breaks with Tinder
Matches load forever
Tinder lists this under Problems with Matches. Check the connection first, then reinstall.
Messages not sending
A message stays unsent. Tinder has a dedicated article for this.
App crashing
The app closes on launch or during use. Tinder says to check the internet, reinstall or use Tinder.com.
Login trouble
Sign-in problems are grouped in a Trouble with Login section, which covers your phone number and email.
No profiles in Discovery
The deck is empty or will not refresh. Tinder has a separate article on not seeing profiles.
How to fix Tinder when it only fails for you
Start at the top. The first steps are the cheapest and fix most cases that are not a real outage.
- Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data. Tinder's own first step for matches that will not load. Test both.
- Reinstall the app. Delete Tinder and install it again from the App Store or Google Play. This also updates the app.
- Use tinder.com. Open Tinder in a browser. If it works there but not in the app, the app is the problem.
- Check your phone number and email. If login fails, open the Trouble with Login section of the Help Center and check which method you used.
- Update the phone. Install the current iOS or Android version and the newest Tinder update.
- Free up storage. A full phone can crash apps. Check iPhone storage or Android storage and clear space.
- Retry later. If everything fails on every network, wait and try again, as the service may be having a short problem.
- Use official recovery only. Never give your password or login code to anyone. Use the Help Center for account recovery.
If none of this helps and the live check above shows the service as up, read our guide on why a website is not loading, or see how to flush DNS.
