Is Pinterest Down?

Pinterest showing a blank feed, failing to save a Pin or saying something went wrong? The live check below shows whether Pinterest answers from outside your network, and the fixes cover problems that live on your device.

Checking Pinterest…

Reading the latest result from our servers.

We test www.pinterest.com and api.pinterest.com from our servers. This shows whether the public addresses answer, not what happens inside the app.

Tell us if Pinterest does not work for you. One report per visitor every 10 minutes.

Checks run on our servers. We do not keep a list of the addresses you check.

How to use it

  1. Read the live status above. It tests Pinterest from outside your network.
  2. Open the official Pinterest Help Center page for confirmed incidents.
  3. If Pinterest is up, work through the fixes below, cheapest first.
  4. Press the report button if it still fails, so other visitors see it.

Is Pinterest down for everyone or only for you?

Pinterest is mostly an image feed. The page you open is a thin shell, and the Pins, boards and search results load afterward from separate back-end services. That is why you can sometimes see the header and menus while the grid stays empty, or why a Pin loads but the Save button spins forever.

Our check requests the main Pinterest website and its public API host from our server. If both answer, Pinterest is reachable and the fault is more likely your browser, the mobile app, a saved login, or something between you and Pinterest. Pinterest does not list a status page in its Help Center that we could confirm, so use the check and the Help Center together.

The live check on this page requests www.pinterest.com and api.pinterest.com from our servers every few minutes. A normal answer from those addresses means the service is reachable from outside your network. It does not prove that every feature inside Pinterest works, which is why the problem reports and the fixes below matter.

What usually breaks with Pinterest

Empty or endless feed

The home feed shows blank tiles or never finishes loading. The recommendation and image services are slow or unreachable, or a browser extension is blocking the image requests.

Saving and creating Pins

Save fails, a new Pin stays in drafts, or the upload bar stops. Writes go to different services than reads, so browsing can work while saving does not.

Login and account access

The login page loops, rejects a correct password or asks you to verify again. Cookies and saved sessions cause most of these, not an outage.

Saving from other websites

The browser button or the Save button on a blog fails to pick up images. The site you are saving from, its scripts, or the Pinterest button can be the cause.

Search and Shopping

Search returns nothing or product Pins show no price. Search and catalog data are separate from the image feed.

How to fix Pinterest when it only fails for you

Start at the top. The first steps are the cheapest and fix most cases that are not a real outage.

  1. Hard refresh the page. In the browser press Ctrl+Shift+R (Cmd+Shift+R on Mac). This reloads the scripts and styles Pinterest uses to draw the grid.
  2. Try a private window. Open pinterest.com in an incognito or private window. If it works there, a cookie or an extension is the cause.
  3. Pause ad blockers and script blockers. Content blockers can stop Pinterest image requests. Turn them off for pinterest.com and reload.
  4. Clear Pinterest site data. In Chrome open Settings, Privacy and security, Third-party cookies or Site settings, and remove the data for pinterest.com. Then log in again.
  5. Update or clear the mobile app. On Android go to Settings, Apps, Pinterest, Storage, Clear cache. On iPhone update the app in the App Store, or delete and reinstall it. Your Pins and boards live in your account.
  6. Switch networks. Test on mobile data instead of Wi-Fi. If it works, restart your router or flush DNS on your computer.
  7. Use the official login help. If you cannot get in, open the Can't log into Pinterest article in the Help Center. Reset your password only from pinterest.com, never from a link in a message.

If none of this helps and the live check above shows the service as up, read our guide on why a website is not loading, or see how to flush DNS.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if Pinterest is down or only my connection?

Run the live check above. If it shows Pinterest as reachable but your feed is empty, try the mobile app on cellular data. If that works, the problem is your browser or your network.

Does Pinterest have an official status page?

We could not confirm an official Pinterest status page. The Pinterest Help Center at help.pinterest.com is the official place for account and troubleshooting articles.

Why will Pinterest not let me log in?

Common causes are an old saved session, blocked cookies or a typo in your email. The Help Center article Can't log into Pinterest lists the usual reasons. Use only the official password reset.

Why do my Pins stay in drafts?

A Pin can fail to publish when the upload or the link check fails. Retry once, then try from another device or browser.
