How to use it
- Read the live status above. It tests DoorDash from outside your network.
- Open the official DoorDash Help Center page for confirmed incidents.
- If DoorDash is up, work through the fixes below, cheapest first.
- Press the report button if it still fails, so other visitors see it.
Is DoorDash down for everyone or only for you?
DoorDash connects three sides in real time: you in the customer app, the restaurant or store and a Dasher. The app and website handle browsing, checkout and payment. Order tracking depends on the store accepting the order and a Dasher picking it up. That means an order can fail at the store or delivery step even when the app itself works.
Our check requests the DoorDash website and its API host from outside your network. We did not find a public DoorDash status page, so for known problems use the Help Center. If both checks answer, the trouble is more likely your payment method, your app version or one store.
The live check on this page requests www.doordash.com and api.doordash.com from our servers every few minutes. A normal answer from those addresses means the service is reachable from outside your network. It does not prove that every feature inside DoorDash works, which is why the problem reports and the fixes below matter.
What usually breaks with DoorDash
App will not load
The app hangs on launch or shows blank menus. DoorDash's own advice is to restart the phone and reinstall the app.
Checkout and payment
The order does not go through because a card is declined or expired. DoorDash can retry a backup payment method.
Order not accepted
A store is too busy or closed and the order is not confirmed. That is a store problem, not an outage.
Tracking and delivery
The map does not move or the Dasher is delayed. If the order never arrives, use Help in the app.
Missing or wrong items
Items are missing or incorrect. This is handled through the Help button on the order, not a system fault.
How to fix DoorDash when it only fails for you
Start at the top. The first steps are the cheapest and fix most cases that are not a real outage.
- Test on another network. Open the app on mobile data instead of Wi-Fi. On iPhone, toggle Wi-Fi off to test cellular.
- Restart and reinstall the app. Restart your phone, then delete and reinstall DoorDash. On Android you may first clear app data in Settings, Apps, DoorDash, Storage.
- Update your payment method. Add a new card before removing the old one. DoorDash notes the last credit card you used stays the default.
- Use a backup payment method. DoorDash can retry a second saved method if the default fails. Valid options include cards, PayPal, Venmo and CashApp.
- Change payment on a placed order. From the receipt page you can switch the payment method on a backup-charged order within 3 hours of placing it.
- Try the website. If the app fails, order from doordash.com in a browser. That helps tell if the problem is the app.
- Use Help on the order. In the app open Orders, choose the order and tap Help. Options include Order never arrived and Missing or incorrect items.
- Check your address and store hours. A wrong delivery address or a store that is closed can stop checkout. Confirm both before blaming the app.
If none of this helps and the live check above shows the service as up, read our guide on why a website is not loading, or see how to flush DNS.
Common DoorDash error messages
| Message or code | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Order never arrived | A Help menu option under Delivery Issues for orders that did not show up. DoorDash says to report it promptly. | Open the order, tap Help and choose Order never arrived. |
| Missing or incorrect items | An option under Order Issues for items that were missing or wrong. Credit, refund or redelivery may be offered. | Orders, Help, Missing or incorrect items, then follow the steps. |
| Payment method failed | DoorDash's backup payment feature retries a second method, and tells you what to fix if both fail. | Update card details or choose another method, then reorder. |
Official DoorDash status and support
The company itself has the final word on outages. Check DoorDash Help Center for confirmed incidents and use DoorDash Help Center if your account has a problem that is not an outage. We are not affiliated with DoorDash.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know if DoorDash is down or if it is just me?
Use the live check above and test the app on mobile data. If the app works there, your Wi-Fi is the cause.
Does DoorDash have a status page?
We did not find a public one for customers. The DoorDash Help Center is the official place for support and known issues.
Why did my payment fail?
A declined, expired or mismatched card is more likely than an outage. Update the card or try a backup method.
My order is late. Is DoorDash down?
Not necessarily. Delays are often at the restaurant or on the road. Use Help on the order.
How do I contact DoorDash?
Use the in-app Help for your order or the Help Center. Do not share your password with anyone.
