Is Canva Down?

Canva editor locked, designs not saving or downloads failing? The live check shows whether Canva answers from outside your network, and the fixes cover browser and connection problems.

Checking Canva…

Reading the latest result from our servers.

We test www.canva.com and api.canva.com from our servers. This shows whether the public addresses answer, not what happens inside the app.

Tell us if Canva does not work for you. One report per visitor every 10 minutes.

Checks run on our servers. We do not keep a list of the addresses you check.

How to use it

  1. Read the live status above. It tests Canva from outside your network.
  2. Open the official Canva Status page for confirmed incidents.
  3. If Canva is up, work through the fixes below, cheapest first.
  4. Press the report button if it still fails, so other visitors see it.

Is Canva down for everyone or only for you?

Canva runs in your browser or an app and keeps a live connection to its servers so every change saves as you work. That connection uses WebSockets. If anything blocks it, such as a proxy, firewall or VPN, the editor can lock even while the website loads. Exports and downloads are processed separately on Canva's side.

Our check requests the Canva website and its API host from outside your network. Canva publishes a status page at canvastatus.com. If our checks pass, saving and loading problems are more often a browser, extension or network setting.

The live check on this page requests www.canva.com and api.canva.com from our servers every few minutes. A normal answer from those addresses means the service is reachable from outside your network. It does not prove that every feature inside Canva works, which is why the problem reports and the fixes below matter.

What usually breaks with Canva

Editor loading

The editor stays on a spinner or crashes. A browser cache, extension or outdated browser is a common cause.

Saving

Changes do not save or the editor locks. Canva links this to blocked WebSocket connections or a bad network.

Downloads and exports

Downloads hang or fail on large designs and videos. Processing is on Canva's servers.

Missing designs

Designs seem gone after sign-in. Often you are on a different account or the wrong team.

Login and teams

Sign-in loops or team content will not appear. Check the account you used.

How to fix Canva when it only fails for you

Start at the top. The first steps are the cheapest and fix most cases that are not a real outage.

  1. Check canvastatus.com. Open Canva Status to see if there is a known incident for the editor, downloads or logins.
  2. Try a private window. Open Canva in an incognito or private window. This turns off extensions and old cookies.
  3. Disable VPN, proxy and firewall briefly. Canva says these can block WebSockets. Pause them to test.
  4. Ask IT to allow WebSockets. On work or school networks, Canva asks admins to allow WebSocket connections to www.canva.com on port 443.
  5. Confirm the save status. Choose File, then Save, and check that All changes are saved appears next to the Save button.
  6. Make a copy of the design. If sync errors continue, use File, Make a copy. The copy does not keep sharing settings, so share it again.
  7. Update or switch browser. Use a current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Clear the cache for canva.com.
  8. Use a stable network. Canva recommends a steady connection. Test on another Wi-Fi or mobile hotspot.

If none of this helps and the live check above shows the service as up, read our guide on why a website is not loading, or see how to flush DNS.
